Account Executive for Gifts & Decorative Accessories

Progressive Business Media, a privately held B2B Publishing company that specializes in serving the HOME Industry, is hiring an experienced Account Executive to cover an East Coast territory for our Gifts & Decorative Accessories BRAND. The successful individual will work on the leading B2B trade magazine/digital brand in the Gifts industry. The Account Executive is a salary + commission based opportunity, located in Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • With the client in mind, sell multi-media advertising products to include digital and print products, research products, conferences/events sponsorships, proprietary research projects, etc. to customers/prospects based on the East Coast. A consultative sales approach is utilized at PBM, with a focus on fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Work flexible hours (including some weekends).
  • Travel up to 50% of time, locally and nationally, to attend trade shows, host events, conduct conferences, meet clients, attend industry association meetings and more.
  • Grow this very successful B2B brand by: integrating print, digital and special services offerings to clients in order to achieve CLIENT advertising objectives.
  • Research and understand advertising and media industry trends.
  • Write, format and present client proposals.
  • Possess a “can-do” attitude in driving revenue, taking care of clients and becoming an integral part of a strong sales team.
  • Develop & maintain a plan for sales success that includes: prospecting, holding in-depth account knowledge, designing face-to-face meetings with key decision makers, creating innovative solutions to problems/opportunities and maintaining an aggressive pipeline.

  • Educational background in business or marketing, prefer bachelor’s degree
  • Tenacity, excellent follow through skills and the ability to persuade
  • A proven track record of growing an existing territory or developing a new territory of accounts
